Rick Schuler is the voice, heart, and spirit behind The Rocky Mountain High Experience®, widely hailed as the most authentic John Denver tribute in the nation. Born in Monroe, Louisiana and raised in St. Louis, Schuler’s musical journey began at thirteen, when his round glasses and gentle demeanor drew early comparisons to Denver—and Denver’s music became a lifeline. Teaching himself guitar, Schuler forged a deep personal and artistic connection that would shape his life’s work.

Nearly four decades later, Schuler is recognized as the leading interpreter of John Denver’s catalog, earning praise and endorsements from Denver’s former band members and inner circle, including longtime manager Doug Belscher. His performances capture not only Denver’s unmistakable sound and look, but also his humanitarian spirit—championing messages of love, peace, environmentalism, and unity. A frequent collaborator with original members of Denver’s ensemble, Schuler brings emotional depth and purpose to every stage, from performing arts centers to outdoor festivals, and through nationally syndicated TV and radio appearances.
